18 Worst Moments In Every MCU Movie (So Far) - Ranked
10. The Weird Big-Head CGI - Captain America: The First Avenger
The Film
Cap's first solo movie is one of the more divisive MCU films: some view it as a tantalising, agreeably goofy love-letter to classic adventure films, while others can't stand its old-fashioned tone and rather simplistic war movie narrative.
Either way, it's a truly singular entry into the franchise, emboldened by its solid performances, intriguing romance and thorough self-awareness.
The Moment
Back in 2011, there's no arguing that the visual effects used to transplant Chris Evans' head onto a scrawnier body for Steve Rogers' pre-serum scenes were impressive, but even then, there was plenty of hand-wringing over how offputting and creepy the effects also looked.
The main issue is that Evans' face is that of a much larger man, and so it doesn't really fit convincingly onto the smaller body, giving him the effect of a "big-head" character you might expect to see in a video game.
There wasn't really an easy solution to this and the movie's generally kitschy tone makes it a little easier to swallow down, but still, it's distracting every time Scrawny Steve is on screen.
