18 Worst Moments In Every MCU Movie (So Far) - Ranked
4. Thor & Jane's Chemistry-Free Romance - Thor
The Film
Kenneth Branagh's Thor is...basically OK. It's incredibly rough around the edges and suffers from more than a few wonky characters and subplots, but the visuals are majestic, the Shakespearean overtones are entertaining, and it does a solid job grounding the extremely outlandish, difficult-to-adapt titular hero.
The Moment
No romance in the MCU is as head-smackingly awful and contrived as the love-fest between Thor and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). The film does virtually nothing to convince audiences that these two people are falling for each other beyond it being mandated by a room of box-ticking studio executives.
Hemsworth and Portman have no palpable chemistry whatsoever, and the fact this plot-line was carried over for the sequel before finally being ditched is, honestly, embarrassing. Just terrible, cynical and insulting.
