3. Totally Wasting Jeff Bridges - Iron Man

The Film

Iron Man is, of course, the movie that started it all, the smash-hit critical and box office success that bolstered the potential of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an enduring brand.

It may seem positively quaint by the series' current standards, but Jon Faveau's sharp direction and Robert Downey Jr.'s magnetic performance ensure it's still a firecracker superhero flick a decade later.

The Moment

Though Jeff Bridges was lucky enough to deliver one of the MCU's most memorable lines as of yet - "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave...with a box of scraps!" - the Oscar-winning legend sadly wasn't given much else to do with his passable-yet-generic businessman baddie Obadiah Stane.

Bridges himself has even since commented that the film was being constantly re-written by himself and others on-the-fly due to executive meddling, which likely explains why his role in the movie feels so weirdly flat and piecemeal at times.

Bridges was clearly deserving of a top-shelf part, but he had to settle for being wasted on a totally mediocre one instead.
