18 Worst Moments In Every MCU Movie (So Far) - Ranked
18. Crossbones' Speedy Demise - Captain America: Civil War
The Film
Captain America: Civil War may be a fairly loose adaptation of the iconic titular comic, but it's easily one of the MCU's best entries overall, training the focus on divided superhero factions battling one another, while also serving up one of the series' most fittingly grounded villains in Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl).
The Moment
After secret HYDRA agent Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo) got burned to a crisp at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, fans were eager to see him resurface as the iconic comic book villain Crossbones in the follow-up.
As it turned out, despite Crossbones having a pivotal role in the Civil War comic, Rumlow barely survives the first 10 minutes of the movie.
After being easily bested by Cap (Chris Evans) in a fist-fight, Crossbones blows himself up, at once extinguishing the character's huge villainous potential.
All that hype felt like such a waste, and if the Russo brothers weren't going to give the character his fair due, they probably shouldn't have bothered including Rumlow in the MCU at all.
