1. The Just Dance Scene - The Emoji Movie
The Emoji Movie is, to be kind, a dumpster fire of a movie that cravenly attempts to market phone apps to kids, and surely the most egregious product placement in the entire film is for the Just Dance app.
Protagonist Gene (T.J. Miller) and his two pals Hi-5 (James Corden) and Jailbreak (Anna Faris) end up inside Just Dance, meeting the app's dance instructor Akiko Glitter (Christina Aguilera) and being forced to fight for their lives by putting on a compelling dance performance.
The scene drags on for more than five minutes as Akiko explains the rules of Just Dance, the trio bounces their way through two songs, some anti-virus bots show up for a dance-off, and mercifully, the phone's owner finally deletes the app, with the three escaping just in time.
An almost entirely worthless scene that eats up close to 10% of the movie's run-time with its relentless shilling, there's been nothing more vile or, indeed, more weird, on the big screen this summer.
