18. Captain America's Broken Shield Is Actually From Tony Stark's Hallucination
When the trailers showed off Thor lying beaten next to Captain America's broken shield, fans were left to ponder what this meant for the team, and how they could possibly fend off Ultron. Also, would it cause Cap to have to visit Wakanda and meet Black Panther to get some more vibranium for his shield? The answer, as it turns out, is no. This scene is actually a hallucination administered to Tony Stark by Scarlet Witch early on in the movie, where he imagines the team beaten and dying, reflecting his own anxieties about protecting the world against any looming threat.
