17. Ultron Is A Lot Weirder Than You Are Expecting
The movie's advertising did a fine job selling Ultron as this all-powerful, super-terrifying being, though this feels like a mis-representation of sorts, as he's ultimately a far quirkier villain than you're probably going to be expecting. He's basically the dark side of Tony Stark if left unchecked, full of human anxiety and a lot more vulnerable than the trailers implied. Though James Spader does an absolutely stand-up job performing as Ultron, it's fair to say that he's not quite as menacing or easy to take seriously as a lot of fans would have preferred. He certainly pales in comparison to Loki, and some of the jokes he cracks either fall totally flat or just end up seeming bizarre rather than funny.
