Ultimately, the moral of the story is that good can overcome all evil and it probably wasn't Tolkien's intention to write a novel solely for the purpose of making a political statement about the evils of Capitalism and industrialism. That certainly doesn't make the books Communist manifestos: while Tolkien thought democracy was broken, he also openly hated Communism. Everyone knows the books are all about boys being able to pull off long hair and looking fierce.
