20 Absolutely Insufferable Film Characters Who Didn't Deserve THAT

This character is in the same category as Mary Corleone: she's infuriating when alive, yet a tragic loss once killed off. 

Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) is, by far and away, one of the absolute worst Harry Potter characters. After being in the background in some of the earlier instalments, she's brought to the forefront in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, arguably the nadir of the original eight-film run, and she becomes Ron Weasley's girlfriend in an extremely jarring comedic subplot in which she is maddening without ever being remotely funny. 

For reasons that will never be understood, what should've been a minor side-story at the very most gets a disproportionate amount of focus, overshadowing far more important things like Harry Potter finding out about Voldemort's past or his blossoming romance with Ginny Weasley, so it's difficult not to wholeheartedly dislike Lavender. Having said all of this, her death at a werewolf's hands in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was a nasty shock, especially as she didn't die in the book, and this scene carried a palpable air of tragedy. 

No matter how much of a pain in the arse she was, poor Lavender was only a kid, and her sole crime was being tiresome.
