20 Action Movie Sequels Since 2000 That Don't Suck

Tony Jaa returns in this sequel to 2005’s Warrior King (aka The Protector), delivering his most exciting film since the original Ong Bak.

Once again, Jaa encounters some one-dimensional villains who’ve been poaching elephants, which eventually leads to a martial arts showdown with RZA, who’s so evil he attaches a bomb to an elephant in one scene. This sits none too well with our hero who, along with a sidekick, decides to wipe out the supporting cast in a series of effects-heavy action sequences.

"Sure, it's silly," wrote critic Drew Taylor, "but it's also wildly entertaining and sprinkled with some nice emotional beats. As long as Tony Jaa keeps losing his elephant, we'll keep showing up to watch him track it down."

Which, you have to admit, is a more welcome proposition than watching Johnny Depp reprise Captain Jack in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
