One of the most exciting action directors to have emerged since John Woo returned to China, Evans takes the basic plot of Infernal Affairs (cop goes undercover to bring down a syndicate) and jazzes it up with two-and-a-half-hours of bone-blasting martial arts mayhem, but don’t go thinking that this is a one-note, repetitive action movie.
“With the precision of dance and the punch of a KO champion,” wrote Rolling Stone’s Pete Travers, "Evans keeps the action coming like nobody's business. The wow factor is off the charts." When you see how Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man earned their nicknames, you’ll agree.
