8. Tuppence Middleton
Age: 26Nationality: EnglishMost notable role: Justine (Tormented) Tuppence Middleton (yes, it's her real name; no, she's no relation to Kate and Pippa) has appeared sporadically on British TV these last few years, and has appeared in Friday Night Dinner, Sirens, Spies of Warsaw, and Black Mirror; this year, she also appeared in Danny Boyle's latest film, Trance. 2014 could be the year a breakthrough year for her though, as she's set to star alongside former Bond Pierce Brosnan in A Long Way Down and Love Punch, and alongside the brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game. A science-fiction flick with Mila Kunis and Terry Gilliam (Jupiter Ascending) is also on the cards, and then there's the possibility of more television. Let's hope she gets bigger parts.
7. Lara Pulver
Age: 33Nationality: EnglishMost notable role: Erin (Spooks) Already an established face on British TV - a show-stealing performance in Sherlock helped with that - Lara Pulver is set to maintain that reputation with a starring in Fleming next year, a war-time series focussing on James Bond author Ian Fleming, with Dominic Cooper of The History Boys. As well as Fleming though, she's signed up for Tom Cruise's latest sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow which also stars Emily Blunt. It would be unlikely for her to conquer Hollywood, but a few more TV roles can't be far around the corner, and what about a return to Sherlock? Unlikely, but we can hope.
