20 Actors Who Died In 2020
12. John Saxon
John Saxon is one of the most recognisable character actors of all time, a steely presence who lent gravitas to practically anything he appeared in.
Having worked on more than 200 film and TV projects over a 60-year period, Saxon was doubtless best known for playing police officers in a number of horror films such as the 1974 Black Christmas, Dario Argento's Tenebrae, and three films in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
He also memorably played opposite Bruce Lee as Roper in Enter the Dragon, and was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe for portraying bandit Chuy Medina in The Appaloosa.
Saxon died of pneumonia on July 25 at the age of 83.
