20 Actors You Never Knew Were In Star Wars

12. Brian Blessed - The Phantom Menace

John Wayne Imperial Spy
Universal & Lucasfilm

If you ever need an actor to provide a bellowing voice, there are few better than Brian Blessed, whose presence you might've nevertheless missed in The Phantom Menace.

The larger-than-life actor voices Boss Nass, the Gungan leader who speaks briefly to Qui-Gon (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor).

Yet because Blessed performs the role with a Gungan accent and vocal pattern to match, he sounds a little different to his typical booming, velvety tenor.

In more recent years Blessed admitted that he tried to warn George Lucas that audiences would respond with hostility to Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), but seemingly to no avail.
