Octavia Spencer spent many years making a living off of guest roles and bit parts in movies. She briefly appeared in Spider-Man and has played a nurse on screen a remarkable amount of times.
Years of hard work seemed to pay off with an Oscar win for the 2011 film version of The Help. Other high-profiles films of hers include Hidden Figures and The Shape of Water.
