There's an Easter egg hidden in plain sight at the very beginning of Aliens, one which more fans may have picked up on in the last decade or so as James Cameron's profile has become even better-known to a wider audience. When Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is rescued from stasis in the escape pod, one of the salvage team says, "Bio readouts are in the green, looks like she's alive", and if you listen carefully, you just might recognise the voice as that of Cameron himself. It's a subtle enough nod that he can easily get away with it, and for directors who don't want to cameo in front of the camera Hitchcock-style, voiceover cameos are non-intrusive but fun all the same.
