One of the more memorable scenes from the original Alien is when Lambert (Veronica Cartwright) is cornered by the Xenomorph, which moves in closer and wraps its tail around her leg, strengthening the whole rape metaphor of the entire movie. According to Cartwright herself, though, she didn't actually film the scene, and it's a shot taken from the scene in which Brett (Harry Dean Stanton) dies earlier on in the movie. In retrospect, it's incredibly obvious, considering that the trousers and shoes in the shot aren't even what Lambert is seen wearing earlier, but of course, the brain is simply willing to accept it given how brief the moment is, and how viewer attention is diverted by the disturbing nature of the whole scene.
