15. James Remar Appears In Some Shots As Hicks - Aliens
Did you know that prior to Michael Biehn taking one of his most iconic roles as Corporal Hicks, he was originally played by character actor James Remar? He was ultimately replaced after a few days of shooting due to the diplomatic "artistic differences" claim, though Remar himself would later admit that he was actually fired due to being caught with drugs on his person. The real kicker is that Remar does actually appear in the final movie, because he was filmed in a number of complicated effects-based shots when the Marines enter the aliens' nest, and to prepare these camera set-ups again was out of the question. The actor's face can't be seen, though, as Cameron ensured to edit the scene such that Remar's shots were only used from the back. To the audience, there's absolutely no way to tell who is who throughout this scene.
