7. Biggest Box Office Bomb - Legends Of Oz: Dorothy's Return

How many people knew that this movie even existed? Loosely based on the book Dorothy of Oz by L. Frank Baum's great-grandson, Legends of Oz came with a hefty price-tag of $70m and ended up tanking spectacularly at the box office. Opening at over 2,600 theaters, the movie earned a disastrous $3.7m in its first three days to score one of the worst debut weekends in history. A critical as well as commercial flop, Dorothy was probably wishing she had never returned to Oz after the movie finished its theatrical run with just $18.6m in the coffers.

Runner Up - Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Robert Rodriguez had spent almost a decade fielding questions about whether or not he would ever make Sin City 2, and by the time the box office numbers came in he was probably wishing that he had never bothered. Utilizing the same techniques that made the original so memorable and featuring a cast packed with just as much star power as the first, the movie nonetheless flopped at the box office and opened in eighth place with just $6.3m. In fact, A Dame to Kill For's final domestic total of $13.7m was less than half of what the first movie made in its opening weekend nine years earlier. Ouch.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
