16. Most Divisive Movie - Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The biggest hit of the year, Star Wars: The Last Jedi sailed past the billion-dollar mark at the box office and is now comfortably ranked among the highest-grossing movies of all time. Sitting pretty with a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 85 on Metacritic, The Last Jedi for all intents and purposes is easily one of the best-reviewed movies of the year.

So why has it proven so divisive among the fans?

Some were shouting from the rooftops that it was the best Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back, while others were blaming Rian Johnson for ruining their favorite franchise. Was it a bold, daring new take on a 40-year-old series or does it butcher the character of Luke Skywalker, ruin canon and disappoint on almost every level?

No matter what side of the argument you fall under, one thing is for sure: The Last Jedi generated huge debate between fans the world over, and likely will do until the next movie is released.
