The interior and exterior shots of The Curran Theatre (San Francisco, California) were used as a Broadway setting for the movie. A man named Eddie Fisher was a local actor and happened to be the stage manager of the venue so they decided to use him as the stage manager of the film.

The name is just a coincidence.
