From the very beginning, the Avengers comic has spotlighted characters that never really caught the public's imagination because they were a little too different. In this list, Brother Voodoo proudly stands up for all the superficially terrible, C-list Avengers, like the Two-Gun Kid, Doctor Druid, Stingray, Captain Universe, and the 1960's or 1990's Swordsman. There's actually something great about a character hated by most readers. Perhaps it's because they're underdogs, but I can't help but have a soft spot for them, all the while freely acknowledging that they're not as good as Cap or Iron Man or Thor. Still, at least these quirky C-listers are different and, honestly, who needs another strong man like the Sentry? Why they won't be in the Avengers movies: Simply put, they're too oddball. Each movie needs a group of easily differentiated, unique characters, but these guys take being individualistic way too far to be accepted by the majority of modern movie watchers.
