The Plot: Four black students at a fancy, mostly white University try to figure out their identities amid uncertainty and racism from their fellow students. Why It's Awesome: Writer-director Justin Simien does a splendid job carving out a unique voice for himself here in a riotously entertaining race comedy which targets pretty much everyone and leaves nobody safe. While making salient points about being black in contemporary America, the movie also lampoons the illogical thought processes of people on both sides of the equation, and simply, it'll be fascinating to see what Simien comes up with next.
