16. Wild Tales
The Plot: An Argentine-Spanish anthology film about, well, some of the most hilariously screwed up things you could ever imagine, taking bureaucratic nightmares and botched weddings and mining them for every last drop of shock and awe. Why It's Awesome: Rightly nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at this year's Academy Awards, Wild Tales is a perfect example of how to get an anthology film right. So many of them prove wildly inconsistent, but here's one which benefits from a diverse array of subjects, and also happens to boast superb acting and slick direction. The 2-hour run-time floats by effortlessly thanks to the outrageous situations which prove both uproariously funny and deeply demented. More of this, please! How To Watch It: On VOD now (US) / In limited cinemas March 27 (UK)
