20 Awesome Horror Movies In 2025 You Definitely Missed
16. Borderline
Borderline is a truly twisted comedy-horror starring Samara Weaving as Sofia Minor, a pop star and actress who finds herself targeted by Paul (Ray Nicholson) - an obsessive fan who believes the pair are in love.
If many were likely drawn to the film by the presence of verified scream queen Weaving, it's actually Ray Nicholson - yes, son of Jack - who gives the standout, show-stealing performance here.
Nicholson actually has a good deal more screen time than Weaving and basically plays the real central character, so it's a good thing that he swings for the fences with a delightfully unhinged performance entirely worthy of his father's hallowed work in the genre.
Nicholson is a dynamo on-screen who's tough to look away from for all of the film's 95 minutes, and Weaving is her usual terrific self, while Alba Baptista is a riot as Nicholson's deranged lackey.
Some of Borderline's trickier tonal shifts won't be for all tastes, but anyone craving a left-field genre-bending exercise with some serious acting panache should look no further.
