12. Terrifier 3

Even accepting that the Terrifier franchise does have a sizable fanbase who have probably keenly revisited all three films many times over, for those who aren't totally obsessed with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), once per film is probably enough.

Though Terrifier 3 didn't quite raise the gory bar above the borderline-nauseating insanity of the second film, it still delivered a number of memorably grisly kill scenes, typified by both the fantastically detailed gore effects and Thornton's sadistic performance as Art.

But the mean-edged nature of the Terrifier movies also means they're inherently going to be tough viewing for even hardened horror fans - director Damien Leone's unrelenting approach, even killing children in this installment, is nothing if not an acquired taste.

Couple that with the increasingly convoluted, tiresomely nonsensical nature of the series' lore, and it's easy to feel like a single ride on the Art Express is basically more than enough.
