18. John McEnroe In Mr. Deeds Tennis' original bad boy John McEnroe appears in Adam Sandler's 2002 comedy Mr.Deeds, riffing on his own reputation to the extreme, and offering an oddly self-aware portrait that proves the infamously grumpy old man could view himself with no small amount of humour. He meets Longfellow Deeds in the lobby of a fancy New York City restaurant and offers to show him and Winona Ryder's character the "New York people never see," leading them into a night of drinking, smoking and throwing eggs at cars.
17. Chuck Norris In Dodgeball
I could fill this paragraph with Chuck Norris jokes but I will try to resist. In Dodgeball, Average Joe's gym is forced to forfeit the final game because they do not have enough players to compete, before Pete (Vince Vaughn) shows up just after the nick of time to save the day. Globo Gym argues that it's too late and they are the winners, but Average Joe's finds a loophole that says the ruling can be overturned by a panel of three judges. The tiebreaker ruling comes down to the last judge who is revealed to be a smiling Chuck Norris, giving them the thumbs up to begin the game, and confirming the legend of Norris in the process. Once more, the appearance is completely unexpected and without a doubt one of the biggest laughs upon first viewing.
