20 Best “As Themselves” Movie Appearances Ever

4. Mike Tyson In The Hangover

After some poor life and career choices, former world heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson had just about faded into obscurity until Todd Philips put him in 2009's The Hangover and revitalized his career (as well as that Phil Collins song). The film is basically Dude, Where's My Car, set in Vegas with a tiger and Tyson, the tiger's owner, who takes exception to its theft. The morning after the colourful night before, Tyson appears in the Wolfpack's hotel room to take back his pet and exact a little furious vengeance. And movie history was made.

3. Neil Patrick Harris In Harold & Kumar

Speaking of career revitalizing movie appearances, what The Hangover did for Mike Tyson, Harold and Kumar did for Neil Patrick Harris times about 10. Can you name anything he was in between this and Starship Troopers? I can't. Harris plays an extreme sex-crazed version of himself that loves women and drugs, at least partly pre-dating his iconic performance as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother. We first meet him when he is picked up by Harold and Kumar from the side of the road while high on ecstasy, from which point he proceeds to completely steals the movie and even comes back for its two sequels, even when the audience didn't.
