Ahead of the release of the under-appreciated The Good Dinosaur, Peter Sohn admitted publicly that Jaws is one of his favourite films, so it shouldn't have been all that surprising when he included a couple of references. Firstly, when Arlo meets the T-Rexes on the range, the new friends sit around a campfire trading stories of old injuries - including an obvious 127 Hours reference. It's an obvious reference to Jaws, when the shark hunters trade horror stories, and Butch's tale of fighting off three crocodiles makes him the Quint of the piece. The other Jaws reference comes towards the finale when the Pteradon gang's wings pierce the cloud cover above Arlo like shark fins.
