20 Best Easter Eggs In 2016 Movies
1. Vader's Castle - Rogue One
The Empire Strikes Back originally featured a sequence in which Darth Vader resided in an ornate castle fortress, with George Lucas even commissioning legendary artist Ralph McQuarrie to rustle up some gorgeous designs.
It of course never made it to the screen, but the castle finally made its canonical debut in Rogue One, as Orson Krennic visits Mustafar to discuss the Death Star.
When Krennic arrives, the castle can briefly be seen, giving fanboys the small measure of payoff they've been craving for over three decades. It may be just a fleeting look at Vader's abode, but it's an awesome nod to a missing relic of Star Wars lore that fans have been desperate to see reconstituted to the franchise.
