Social consciousness in film-making is so hot right now. The fact that it isn't hot all the time is a curious development, but here we are.

The man now entrusted with turning politicised messages into a fully-fledged genre is Key & Peele's Jordan Peele, who has graduated from socially aware comedy sketches to claustrophobic psychological terror with Get Out. He takes the racial undercurrent of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner and spins it out in a totally different direction as Peele shows his colours as a true student of horror.

On the back of this, Daniel Kaluuya will become the latest member of the Skins cast to graduate to the big time (he's also in Black Panther), but it's Peele who comes out with the biggest plaudits. He's quickly become one of the most fascinating directors currently working, with an eye for commentary and entertainment that sets him well apart.

Let's just hope the release date won't rob it off the Oscar nomination it is unquestionably due next year.
