Douchebag Eric (Jai Courtney) captures protagonist Tris (Shailene Woodley) and begins to interrogate her when Four (Theo James) arrives on the scene with backup and rescues Tris. Eric is put on his knees and, after a few words, Four shoots him in the head. Why is a death so ordinary so satisfying? Because it's Jai Courtney, of course: the guy inexplicably gets so many high-profile roles, has helped ruin several great franchises, and rarely actually dies in any of his films. It may have been a fairly tame PG-13 death, but in an otherwise pretty terrible movie, it was an undeniably satisfying moment for fans of the Die Hard and Terminator franchises in particular.
