20 Best Movie Deaths Of 2015

2. Han Solo - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Han Solo (Harrison Ford) makes a desperate attempt to bring his son, Ben aka Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), back to the light side, calling out to him by his birth name and trying to convince him that the dark side isn't the way. Ben appears to see sense, remarking that he needs to do something, but just doesn't know if he can. He drops his mask and is just about to hand his lightsaber over to Han when he instead impales him through the chest with it. After Han gives his son a pained expression, he falls off the narrow walkway they're stood on and is gone. It's an absolutely devastating moment and smartly wasn't drawn out with a prolonged death speech: he's stabbed, gives Ren a look and then disappears out of the Star Wars universe within mere seconds. Sure, it's a little disappointing that we barely see Leia (Carrie Fisher) reacting at all to her estranged partner's death, but the scene itself is pure gold, and pretty much as great as The Force Awakens gets. I mean, how can you not hate Kylo Ren now?
