5. The Church Massacre - Kingsman: The Secret Service
Kingsman did a better job of paying homage to old Bond movies than even Spectre managed; it was winning combination of fun performances, slick action and tongue in cheek parody. It also revealed quite unexpectedly that Colin Firth has been a total badass this whole time; he was just hiding it behind polite manners and cheesy rom-coms. His character Harry Hart is a true gent throughout, though hes fully capable of kicking all the ass if needs be. Nowhere is this plainer than Kingsmans infamous church massacre, where Hart and an entire church are brainwashed into fighting one another. Hart being one of the top-secret agents in the world has a clear advantage over everyone else, and he shoots, maims and stabs everyone in his way. Most of the scene is shot in long, flowing takes that make it clear Firth is doing all the moves himself. While watching the hero mindlessly slaughter innocent people could have been overwhelming, the sequence stays the right side of black comedy; plus Harrys horrified reaction when he comes out of his trance means he can feel the guilt so you dont have to.
