Hailed as one of the best superhero movies of all time and ranking as the year’s highest grossing film, there’s no doubt of Captain America: Civil War’s popularity, and it owes a large part of its success to its climactic fight scene. The blistering battle between the fractured Avengers takes place at Germany’s Leipzig/Halle Airport – kudos to whoever sorted out the logistics for that – and despite being an epic 15 minutes long, it’s so action-packed that it never gets tedious.

It’s not just all fights, explosions and cars flying through the air either – there’s some genuinely funny and emotional parts to the battle too. It’s a scene made all the more powerful by the fact the fighting isn’t between sworn enemies but between former friends and allies and a perfect prelude to the forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War.
