As middling as its critical reception was, the marketing campaign for David Ayer’s comic book adaptation Suicide Squad undeniably helped generate much of the hype around the movie. Rather than a traditional cast photo, its IMAX poster takes inspiration from gaudy, sugary kids’ cereals à la Lucky Charms.

Popping with colour and in keeping with the rest of the Suicide Squad’s pop art inspired marketing campaign, the poster reimagines the movie’s iconic characters – Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and The Joker included – and their weapons of choice as candy-coloured marshmallows.
