7. Run All Night
Batman Alum: Liam Neeson Liam Neeson has been might busy this year, lending himself to some top-notch cameo work in Entourage and Ted 2, but his only starring role was in this critically-panned action-thriller (because...of course), Run All Night. And though Neeson's old man-as-badass schtick might have worn a little thin by the time this one came around, Run All Night actually exceeds the last couple of Taken sequels simply by virtue of not being a Taken movie. Instead of going after the bad guys, Neeson (along with his son) are on the run from them, which provides an extra layer to his standard "set of skills." There are a lot of the typical thriller tropes on display here - corrupt cops, hard-edged assassins, over-the-top mob bosses - but there's some heart to it, as well. Ultimately, this is a character-driven foray into revenge that also features Ed Harris. So...there's that.
