20 Best Netflix 2017 Original Movies - Ranked
3. The Meyerowitz Stories (New & Selected)
Noah Baumbach is one of the first big auteur filmmakers to make the leap to Netflix, and though it hasn't translated to much awards success for the director, that takes nothing away from the fact that his latest effort is one of his best and most accessible films to date.
Giving Adam Sandler his best material in years while also writing great roles for Dustin Hoffman and Ben Stiller, The Meyerowitz Stories may rake over fairly familiar themes for the filmmaker, but rarely have they hit with such tragi-comic force.
Less obsessed with "white people problems" as Baumbach is frequently criticised for, there's a more universal humanity at play here, and it's a true delight.
