20 Best Netflix Original Horror Movies - Ranked

If tech-fuelled horror films have absolutely been done to death over the last 20 years, Cam brings a fresh take which eschews goofy tropes in favour of sure topicality.

Madeline Brewer is excellent as Alice, an ambitious camgirl whose plans to become a star are halted when she discovers her online presence has been hijacked by a doppelganger.

The potential for silliness speaks for itself, and yet director Daniel Goldhaber successfully crafts a dread-soaked atmosphere, largely thanks to some moody visuals and Brewer's fantastic lead performance.

Though concrete logic isn't easy to come by and the ending won't work for everyone, the delirious journey is well worth it, offering up a broader commentary on the perils of seeking online fame and what "existence" means in the age of social media.
