20 Best Netflix Original Horror Movies - Ranked

10. Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

Dropped out of nowhere in December 2018, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch was a groundbreaking effort from writer Charlie Brooker - an attempt to translate the "choose-your-own-adventure" video game concept into a streamed movie.

And while the format still has its obvious teething problems, the ambition of Bandersnatch's presentation nevertheless makes it one of the most distinctive Netflix Originals of all time, no matter the genre.

Following the descent of video game programmer Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead) as he attempts to adapt a CYOA adventure novel into a video game, Bandersnatch riffs on notions of free will in clever and unpredictable ways, backed up by both a stellar supporting cast - best of all Will Poulter as a hotshot game designer - and David Slade's sharp direction.

Fingers crossed we get to see more genre filmmakers experimenting with this alluring fusion of game and film in the near-future.
