20 Best Netflix Original Movies Of 2019 - Ranked

11. The Perfection

The Perfection Allison Williams Logan Browning
Netflix

Following a talented young cello player who seeks out the star pupil of her former school, The Perfection has everything a memorable horror movie should have: tons of bloody gore (dismemberments, stabbings, etc), plenty of twists and turns, a tight runtime, and all-in performances from its core cast.

There's some seriously twisted stuff in this movie - revenge, rape, drug abuse, puking up maggots - and for the most part, it's all gloriously unpredictable, with more than a few shocking moments that will have your stomach turning (the final shot is equal parts insane, messed up, and weirdly transfixing).

The only problem is that things do start to get a bit over the top towards the end, but if you like your horror movies to have a touch of infectious craziness in them, then you'll have a blast with how disturbing this one gets.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
