20 Best Performances In Horror Movies

19. Jamie Lee Curtis - Halloween (2018)

David Gordon Green had a fantastic idea when it came to crafting his vision of Halloween, which involved teaming up with co-writers Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley to make the film a direct sequel to the 1978 original movie, thereby forgetting all the films in the middle of the franchise.

This proved to be a stroke of creative genius, as 2018's Halloween was a perfect homage to the iconic original, as well as a bloodthirsty and thrilling horror sequel in its own right.

The best part, though, was the return of renowned scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis to the role of series heroine Laurie Strode, who in the film is shown suffering from PTSD and struggling to heal her relationship with her estranged daughter (Judy Greer).

Much like in the original movie, Curtis is the glue holding the film together, offering up a typically compelling scream queen masterclass whilst giving Laurie an added edge of trauma and grief that makes her more sympathetic and badass than ever.

It's an enthralling performance, and with two sequels on the horizon, fans can rest assured that Curtis is far from done with the role.
