Total Copies Sold: 3,245,009 With its minions, high-pitched children and incompetent, gangly hero, Despicable Me is geared to kids, be they the metaphorical one inside adults or actually little people. Universal aren't a massive name in animation, but that only makes the adoration directed towards Gru and co. all the more astounding. As with Monsters University this is one of those films that manages cross-generational appeal without resorting to scenes that segregate one or the other (think Dreamworks' previous reliance on pop culture references).
