10. Felicity Jones
Best: The Theory of Everything (2014) As much as Eddie Redmayne's performance as Stephen Hawking has attracted the most accolades, The Theory of Everything would be nothing without balance, and it is Jones' turn that offers the emotional heart of the story. The way she paints a conflicted picture of love, doubt and authentic emotional wounds is utterly captivating, and the fact that she does so with such restraint and such lack of artifice is even more impressive. Worst: The Tempest (2010) Shakespearean adaptations are usually a pretty good bet, but somewhat unthinkably this beautiful disaster from Julie Taymor was far too impressed with how it looked without concentrating on adapting the substance or - most importantly - the spirit of the Bard.
