20 Best & Worst Movies From 2015 Oscar Nominees

1. Bradley Cooper

Best: Silver Linings Playbook (2012) Still a complete triumph and one of the most rewatchable films probably of all time, Silver Linings is wounded, joyous and utterly disarming, with an infectious, playful sense of humour. And crucially, it soars on the performances of both Cooper and co-star Jennifer Lawrence. Worst: All About Steve (2009) Has a film ever felt any more like a silent scream for help than All About Steve? If you're struggling for the answer there, it's no. Featuring a starry cast of people who should definitely have known better, it is to Silver Linings Playbook's portrait of mental illness and romance what Sharknado is to The Towering Inferno. Similarly spirited, but utterly, offensively abject by comparison. To his credit, he never looks as committed as Sandra Bullock did.
