20 Biggest Mistakes In The DCEU So Far

3. All The Product Placement

At least Warner Bros. seems to have got their most egregious shilling out of their system way back in Man of Steel, which featured countless obnoxious product placement deals for Sears, Nokia, IHOP, Nikon and Budweiser, to name just a few. The fact that shots in the third act were clearly intentionally framed to include the Sears logo would be laughably bad were they not so genuinely sad and frustrating.

Batman v Superman meanwhile blatantly promoted Jolly Rancher in cringe-worthy fashion as well as Turkish Airlines, and Suicide Squad shilled Samsung phones like its life depended on it (which it possibly did). At least Wonder Woman, with its primary period setting, wasn't really able to feature paid advertisements, and was all the better for it.

These deals are worth so much money, though, that Wonder Woman will probably remain the outlier moving forward. Expect Justice League to be jam-packed with paid placements to offset some of that hefty $250 million budget.
