20 Biggest Mistakes In The DCEU So Far

19. The Excessive Pop Music (Suicide Squad)

Suicide Squad went total overkill with its use of pop music, which felt thoroughly at odds with the movie's scuzzy characters and rough-around-the-edges tone.

The use of such commercial music as The Rolling Stones' “Sympathy For The Devil”, Eminem's "Without Me" and Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody” felt like a lazy attempt to exploit the audience's affinity for these songs, something done slightly less cynically in, say, Guardians of the Galaxy, because there it served an actual thematic purpose.

Here it just feels like Warner Bros. panicked that scenes wouldn't play well enough on their own and basically threw a jukebox into the mix.
