2. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Who's involved? The climax of Phase 2 of Marvel Studio's ambitious plans sees the team from the studio's previous flagpole smash hit reunite. Joss Whedon is once again on writing and directing duties as are the full set of Avengers from last time round: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. Tom Hiddleston's villainous Loki has been left on Asgard this time around, replaced by James Spader as the eponymous Ultron. On top of this, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) have been added to the team, while Paul Bettany will play a new role on top of voicing computer J.A.R.V.I.S.. What's the story? The Avengers must reassemble in order to defeat Spader's super-powerful artificial intelligence with a god complex and a massive chip on his shoulder concerning his human creators. In addition to this, they must contend with and eventually recruit brother-sister duo of superfast Pietro Maximoff AKA Quicksilver (Taylor-Johnson) and telekinetic magic user Wanda AKA Scarlet Witch (Olsen). Quite how this all occurs is yet to be seen, with Whedon insisting the movie Ultron has nothing to do with comic book creator Ant-Man. If Whedon manages to marshal all of these disparate elements, this could be a bigger hit than the first Avengers.
