Evil Dead Rise proved itself worthy enough of Sam Raimi's legacy with one single brutal scene later in the movie, when the Deadite-possessed Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) uses a cheese grater as a gnarly offensive weapon against her aunt Beth (Lily Sullivan).

After grabbing the grater, Bridget slams it onto Beth's leg and rips it down, tearing off a huge chunk of leg-skin in the process.

In a movie where one character literally eats glass, this is still the most nauseating and squirm-inducing moment, perhaps in part because we're seeing such a typical household item be used in such a disgustingly destructive way.

Needless to say, it's a moment which left many gasping and cringing in horror.
