20 Characters Most Changed From The Comics In The MCU

19. Loki

Loki is arguably the most popular character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - he's certainly the most surprisingly popular character - as Tom Hiddleston has made the role iconic with a likeable and brilliant portrayal. But his version of the character is very different from the comic book version of the character. The comic book version is every bit the physical threat that Loki is, with enhanced physiology due to his genetics, super-strength and durability and good fighting prowess, just like Hiddleston's version - but there is much more to him than that. His magic skills are almost unrivalled and his powers delve into the supernatural elements that Hiddleston's version is yet to truly explore. Comic book Loki can cast illusions, fly, use telepathy, teleport, use telekinesis, rearrange molecules and fire magical blasts, amongst several other abilities. Marvel Cinematic Universe Loki has only really displayed the ability to cast illusions and, briefly, use telekinesis. Everything else he has done - of which there hasn't been much - has stemmed from his use of powerful items.
